I heard that RUG was releasing those rights! But I do hope that high schools can do it-I mean, you do need a chorus full of en-pointe ballerinas and a lead female who can hit that high E (?)...Unless some really horrible cuts are made and it turns into a Junior musical...but good luck with this!!

My director would rather die than make cuts to a musical, especially one like Phantom.
We do have a few dancers who can do pointe, but we might turn the Il Muto ballet and the bit in Hannibal into a normal ballet so that all of our dancers can do them. I dunno, we'll see. We'll probably take the pointe out of Hannibal and make Il Muto just for the girls who can do pointe.
I know for sure that we have one girl who can hit those high notes, but she's really more suited for Carlotta. I would pay to see her as Carlotta, not even kidding. I'm sure we have another girl suitable for Christine. We definitely have the perfect guy for the Phantom, and two wonderful guys for the managers, and a darling girl for Meg... I know, I know, pre-casting is bad, but I can't help myself.
I just hope the costume crew can pull off all the costumes. They made beautiful costumes for Scarlet Pimpernel three years ago, but all the people who were on costume crew then have graduated... And I really really really hope the makeup crew can pull off the deformity.
I have complete faith in stage and building to make all the sets. Those guys can build crazy things. I'm a little worried about the chandelier... Thank goodness I don't have to personally worry about all that technical stuff, hah. Ensemble performers have the easiest job.
Though after listening to the soundtrack of Zombie Prom, I'm not sure which I'm more excited about. It's like... Grease and Reefer Madness mixed together, with a dash of The Toxic Avenger and maybe a little taste of Little Shop of Horrors. I think I can hit all of the notes the female lead sings, but I don't really want it. I wouldn't like the stress of being a lead, hah. I'd love to be one of her friends, though. And it's all really 50s and cheesy, and it's so awesome.
